With the deadline of 2015 for achieving the Millennium Development Goals approaching, donors are trying to improve their efforts to ensure that countries meet the goals. In Nigeria, one of the gaps in the efforts to achieve this has been identified as the link between constituencies and the local government. M4M will to improve the governance, responsiveness and accountability of local governments in improving the delivery of these goals. M4M will likely work across the key MDG sectors: education, child and maternal health, infectious disease and gender equality. The project will work across three states in Northern Nigeria: Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna. The Team Leader will be based in Kano.
You will ideally demonstrate experience in: • Managing a large DFID funded governance project in Nigeria • Engaging with local government and communities • Working with a large, multi-location project with an MDG, voice and accountability or governance focus, preferably in Africa
